December 2007

Dear Friends,

We greet you in the name of our Lord and pray that you and your family have experienced a wonderful time of Thanksgiving. We also pray that you will find the grace and strength to gird up your loins against the Christmas deluge of secularism and keep the real meaning of Christmas in your hearts and minds! It is because God went on mission to reconcile the world to Himself that we are able to go on mission around the world and passionately make His name known in some of the darkest places in the world.

So, for Dottie and I and the full complement of missionaries that are harvesting in the fields from week to week, we want to say thanks for making it all possible. In addition to these are the 45 orphan children at The Fathers House and the 35 children whose education is being sponsored by many of you. We are in your debt and we thank you!

Books for Harvesters Training College – We have reached half our goal of 3,000 books mentioned in our last prayer letter, in just one month. Thanks to all of you who have responded to this great need. There is still room more, so give us a call at 817.456.1817 or at mkdkdghi@sbcglobal.net.

Answered Prayer – Through the years some of you have heard me say that I am always amazed that a Holy God would stoop to answer our prayers. Here are some that were mentioned from last month:

  1. We need land and church buildings for our three new church plants - Bukkapet, Jayanthi and Kudimaiyur. Total cost for each is $13,000 or $39,000. The need is still there!
  2. Five (5) new Moped motorbikes for 5 pastors - Daniel, Jayaraj, Joseph, Rajaratnam and Arun, for ministry to their own villages and to enable them to oversee and assist the students in their village work. The cost for each is Rs25,000 or $625 each. Total cost is $3,125. Monies were given to purchase two!
  3. Ten (10) new bicycles for HTC students to do the weekend ministry. Each cost Rs3,000 or $75 each. Total cost is $750. This need has been met!

Unanswered Prayers – From September through November, our receipts have fallen an incredible 50% against the same months in 2006. We are in a very unstable pattern that is putting our total ministry in jeopardy. I cannot put my finger on a specific reason. There is always – the economy, the devaluation of the dollar abroad, our donor file is growing older and there are people who don't have as much spendable income as before and then there is just – apathy.

Our donor base consists of a small group of people of about 165 friends. Last year we receipted around $240,000, not including monies designated for building projects in India; or about $20,000 per month. Our income is now averaging $10,000 per month.

So can I ask you to give this some prayer for this critical hour that we face?

To date, we have completed 17 projects ~ meaning that we have preached in 521 venues to nearly 279,000 people. We have seen almost 119,000 first time decisions for Christ.

In addition, six churches have been planted so we bless theLord for all of you who stand with us from month to month!

January India Project – January 17 – 27, 2008

Here is a recent email from our Director in India, James Sundar –

Dear Mack and Dottie,

Greetings in His name. Please find herewith I had given you the dates and venues for Harvest-2008. The actual ministry starts on the 17th morning and ends on 27th January, but we will leave for Palamanaru on the 16th.

We will be staying in the CSI Industrial institute for 5 nights. That is from 17th - 21st and then we will be moving to Kothapallimeta. Mostly we will stay in a local school there from 22nd to 27th night and we will be leaving on the 28th morning for all of our churches services that are now eleven.

Palamanaru and Kothapalli are 20 – 25 miles away from our centre in Andhra Pradesh. At the present, we have two house churches in these areas, Jayanthi and Bukkapet. We will be aiming to lead more to people to Christ and start the disciple classes as we move around these new areas.

We will have two teams working and each team will go to 6 villages and both teams meet for film show in the 7th village. This means we will preach in 70 villages in 10 days.

In my final report I will send you the names of 70 villages and names of the villages we visit on each day. This will be part of vision reaching more unreached Indian people for the glory of God. Please have our friends pray for all of us during these days - thanks.

Prayerfully, James

Dottie and I trust that you have a wonderful Christmas season; and with every gift you give, make sure that they know that the real Jesus lives in you!

Much love…Mack and Dottie
